✨ Reflections from the Frankfurt Book Fair: Therese’s Experience ✨

We’re thrilled to share some reflections from our team member Therese, who recently had the privilege of attending the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) — one of the largest and most celebrated publishing events in the world.

📚 Exploring a World of Stories

Among the crowds, the conversations, and the centuries of publishing tradition, what stood out most wasn’t the scale — it was the curiosity. Publishers, creators, and innovators were all asking the same essential questions about how people read today and what keeps them engaged.

    She shared:

“As I met with publishers at the Frankfurt Book Fair, I was struck by their genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for our research findings. Our conversations circled around those timeless questions — how, why, what, when and who.  What formats are people turning to most often? What motivates them to read? What content truly resonates? What settings does the reading take place in? And what reading personas are we serving?

It reminded me why our work at Kimolian.ai matters — we’re helping to create tools that support readers of every kind, in ways that respect and enhance their experience.”

    🔍 Insights and Opportunities

For Therese, the experience wasn’t just about observing; it was about being challenged and listening — to help ensure that future innovations serve the entire publishing ecosystem. She noted:

    • Curiosity met with caution. Publishers are open to exploring how AI can support their work but remain mindful of protecting creativity, authenticity, and author relationships.

    • A focus on readers’ evolving needs. There’s growing interest in understanding how formats, motivations, and behaviours are changing — and how technology can enhance (not interrupt) the reading experience.

    • Collaboration as the path forward. Meaningful progress will come from dialogue — between technologists, publishers, and readers — to shape tools that respect tradition while embracing innovation.

These insights will directly inform our research into modern reading habits and the ways technology can enhance reading for everyone.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Therese for representing Kimolian.ai at such a prestigious event. Her curiosity, energy, and thoughtful reflections help us continue to push the boundaries of how technology and publishing intersect.
